Neighborhood Services Director
The Town of Capitol Heights, located in Prince Georges County, MD, is known as “The Gateway to the Nation’s Capitol.” The City’s 4,300 residents are friendly, involved, and treasure their inviting sense of community. The Town of Capitol Heights is seeking an experienced Neighborhood Services Director with at least 10 years of experience and 5 years of supervisory experience in neighborhood services, public works, code enforcement, construction management, or a licensed skilled trade.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate integrity and must have the ability to inspire the trust and confidence of Town staff and the Town Council. Candidates must have the capacity to work outside and in severe weather conditions, manage the special projects team, prepare and present reports, prepare draft budgets, supervise contractors, coordinate community clean-ups, ensure compliance with BOCA, OSHA and other compliance authorities, and become an expert on Town ordinances. The candidate must demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Additionally, the candidate should be able to build successful partnerships both internally and with the community to ensure that the Council’s vision of “One Town, One Vision, One Future” is enacted and supported.
Must have at least an Associates Degree (Bachelor’s degree desirable). The salary range is $50K - 55K, with benefits. Must have a valid driver’s license.
